Greg has a new post up on the 50Gs blog for his GW-300 G-Shock. Some people have had technical issues with this model, but Greg looks past that and highlights the great LCD and solar and waveceptor features. Follow the link for some more photos and the full write-up.

I think the GW-300 is a kind of love/hate thing. I have three of them, and unfortunately all three failed. Mine are three complete different models, an European basic, a Georgia Cofee and an Ultimate Force model (yep, I can't find that one either on my website, oops). I brought them all three to my local Casio dealer and got a new rechargable battery installed. Since then I never had problems with them. It's not like the failing G-5600 module.
Actually there is a story behind my basic EU GW-300. I paid over €200.- for it, while at the same time the JP/US version was sold for less than $60.-. The GW-300 will probably return to 50Gs later this year, but then seen through my eyes.
My advise, if you love the GW-300 and the battery fails, just replace the battery and the problems are over. It's a one time investment of about $20.-/€15.-.
Cheers,
Sjors
