Watchuseek Suffering From DDOS Attack

Posted the 12th day of April in 2008 by Riley.

Some malcontents tried to take the WUS site and forums offline by using a distributed denial of service attack. The site has been suffering since Friday April 11th. It's working better today, but there are still a few technical glitches plaguing the forums. I won't put a link in this post because the last thing they need is more traffic until the issues are resolved.

Here's the announcement Ernie Rommers (WUS owner) made about it:

Dear watchuseek watch friends,

We are dealing with a major DDOS attack. This causes time outs and even server break downs. We apologize for all inconveniences this is causing you.

Best regards,

Ernie Romers
owner, Watchuseek.com

Make sure to check out the site and show your support after this attack has blown over. I'll post any future updates here.

Update: the site is almost back to normal as of 10PM April 12th. It seems like there's a few things yet to be resolved, but hopefully everything will be working smoothly tomorrow.

Update 2: as of noon on Sunday the site seems much better, but there's still work to do.

Maintenance is scheduled this Wednesday from 7 AM to appr. 10 AM (GMT+1). During maintenance the forums will be offline!
