US & Japanese GW-9200 Compared

    Posted 02 July / 2008 by Riley

WUS user Xfactor has posted photos of his two new GW-9200 Riseman models. The US version comes with the 3147 module that can display Fahrenheit and Celsius, as well as feet and meters. The Japanese 3145 module only shows metric measurements. They both have a steel caseback, but the US version has a dragon on it, and the Japanese version has the classic Riseman flying squirrel. Follow the link to see more detailed photos, with some comparing it to other G-Shock models.

    Just a couple of notes.

-The Dragon should be called a Fire Dragon very important hehe :)

-And the Squirrel is not a classic Riseman figure it is also very new. The classic old Riseman figure was Icarus.

I just love the new Riseman!

I could have sworn that the squirrel has been around for longer, but maybe it's just because I've been seeing it so much lately. It's a modern classic if anything.

The squirrel reminds me of the "molemen" on the various Masters of G watches (including the new Mudmen.) I think I like the flying squirrel better than the dragon. The dragon seems a little cliche.

Yes, it definitely fits in well with the other Masters of G. I prefer it over the dragon, but being American, I like the option of more than metric.
