GMT+9 has posted some thoughts on the epidemic of fake G-Shocks. The more popular these watches become, the more fakes are released into the market. You can find a whole bunch of information in this previous post on fake G-Shocks, but there's just too many variations out there to keep track of them all. Take your time when buying and make sure it's a genuine Casio watch. A little research is all it takes, and then it's pretty easy to identify the bad ones. Please report any sellers on eBay that are peddling fake watches. You should always be safe if you buy from official retailers like Amazon and Macy's.

Thanks Sjors.

I am REALLY hating these fakes! I just got suckered buying one from eBay
That sucks.
The fakes are getting harder to spot with all these new varieties. They will fall apart and are a big waste of money though, so be careful.
That looks really cool.
Nice craftmanship for a fake watch.
I think it really deserves the money paid compared to a g-shock.
Since both (real/fake) look toy-like, its impossible to notice it for anyone else except a real g-shock expert.
I really appreciate such quality fakes.( for a few bucks esp.)
;))))))))))))))))
ndp2008,
There's definitely no good reason to buy a fake G-Shock. They look like crap compared to a real one, and they cost more then a real one most of the time. Most fakes will die if you wash your hands while wearing one.
Real G-Shocks start at $30 shipped and will take all kinds of abuse. Maybe you'll have to change a battery every 5-10 years, and eventually replace the resin parts. They are one of the finest engineered devices in the world. Just try dropping any other watch 30 feet.
Seriously. It's just plain ignorant to want or promote fakes.
it costs a few bucks to get and believe me i never had such problem with them. instead of being ignorant , its just telling the truth which should be accepted.
if you can get me a g-shock for 5 bucks KIT
ASAP.
depends also which fake you get, there are really good quality ones.
I am new to G-Shock watches, and noticed this one for sale on my local Craigslist:
The sellers claims it to be a GA100 module #5081, but doing research I have come to the conclusion that it is a fake. I can't find it on the Casio website, and it looks like a GA110 from the looks of it? Any ideas???
The URL for the website is

Kuma23,
That's a fake. Stay away.
Yeah, I didn't plan on buying from Ebay or Craigslist anyway, I just wanted to point it out to others that do incase they happen to run across the same color pattern.
I bought my two G-shocks at my local Macy's.
