The Casio Oceanus lineup is getting a new OCW-S1400P model. This watch has an ocean theme, and it's packed with TOugh MVT, Tough Solar and Multiband 6 atomic sync. The blue details on the dial and overall water-inspired design looks great for someone into that kind of thing. This one would go well with a yacht, or even a small sailboat.

Update: The retail price on this watch is about $1,626 USD and it will be released on May 31st. Only 1,500 units will be produced.

Casio Releases New OCEANUS With a Truly Oceanic Look
Solar-powered Radio-controlled Watch
Boasts Sophisticated Design and Premium Functionality

BASEL, March 18, 2010 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the release of the latest addition to its premium line of OCEANUS solar-powered, radio-controlled watches. The new OCW-S1400P features a sophisticated ocean-blue design for a subtle touch of seaside class.

True to the OCEANUS identity of elegance and technology, every OCEANUS solar-powered, radio-controlled watch delivers outstanding functionality in a full metal case with a refined, sporty European design. Casio’s premium OCEANUS line offers exceptional quality and slim styling, and has consistently won high marks for its cutting-edge functionality and elegant, streamlined designs.

The new OCW-S1400P uses a blend of subtle blue tones to express the oceanic image of the OCEANUS brand, capturing the essence of a sea in motion. The deep blue of the bezel is treated with ion plating*, while the lettering/numerals, logo, and in-dial ring are accomplished with a vapor deposition process. Adding to the maritime effect, the center of the dial is shimmering mother-of-pearl with a blue underside treatment. The refreshing light blue of the dial and city-name ring complete the strikingly handsome watch face.

Despite the streamlined profile of just 10.9 mm, the new watch packs a 5-motor, multi-function chronograph and Casio’s top-performance Tough Movement**. Casio is delighted to introduce this fresh new OCEANUS just in time for the start of the ocean recreation season.

* Ion plating: A surface treatment method in which a toughened membrane, made using ionized metals and produced in a vacuum, is applied as a coating. It has excellent abrasion resistance and is extremely rust resistant.

** Tough Movement: A slim, high-performance, radio-controlled solar-powered movement that has four vital functions: Multi-Band 6 technology for receiving time-calibration signals transmitted over wide areas from six stations in the world (two in Japan, and one each in the US, the UK, Germany, and China); high-capacity solar power system operation; hybrid mount construction for added shock resistance; and an auto hand home position correction that returns hands to their proper position automatically if they slip out of place.
