Miguel Ayako designed this custom GLX-5600 G-Lide G-Shock. It's a two toned black and white model with turquoise details. The negative LCD looks sharp with the color matched digits. It features the "SpaceCat" logo above the display and the text "Something Monstrous, Neither Beast Nor Man" on the bezel below. It looks like this watch is only a prototype by the designer and there's no word on it actually being released.

I'm disturbed by Ayako's omnipresent mentions on forums and news blogs at the moment. As far as I can tell, none of his (her?) Casio designs have ever gone into production, but the posts always imply a real or planned release.
What's the reality of these ideas? I fear the press is falling for some admittedly good photoshop designs, but that's the end of it.

You're correct in that none of Ayako's G-Shock designs are planned for release by Casio. I was a little confused by this at first too. Ayako is a professional designer and he seems to be proposing these designs to Casio and everyone else. I think they look good and I wish him the best.
This guy keeps Photoshopping different G Shocks and calling them collabs with Casio. Meanwhile he has never even talked to someone at Casio.
That's really something to care about…
How can you guys know, about if I did or did not talked with someone at casio? and I did always mencioned that they were designs made by me, and only me, it's acceptable if I'm a G-SHOCK collector and a Designer to draw some for my pleasure I just wanted to share those ideias with some of you guys so… think about it that way and that way only.
