Atomic Watch

    Hi,

I have a GW-1700BTJ-1AJF I bought last year in Tokyo.
I can't find many info on that watch, only a guy selling it on ebay?
It's a great watch but based on WWVB and JJY atomic signals.
Now that I'm in France, is there a way to make it works with MSF & DCF77 ?

    Thank you for your help

    Welcome to the forum Tubby.

I'm afraid there's no way to add more frequency receptions. It requires new hardware to receive the European signal. You would have to buy a new G-Shock with Multiband 5 or 6 to sync up in France.

It's a good excuse to get another G-Shock though.

    Thanks for your answer ...
I was pretty sure it was not possible but, i gave it a try on this forum ...
It's sad i can't do anything, this watch is a really great one. It's my second G-Shock and i'm found of it (my first one is one of the first model, all in green plastic and still working after more than 10 years of shocks !!!) but i would have prefered to know it was not a world wide atomic watch before buying it instead of what, the seller told me it works in europe ... So if anyone want to buy a watch in Japan without speaking japanese, take care about Yodobaishi Camera's sellers ...

I wish they would all work everywhere. Maybe someday.

It would be nice, I can't see why they don't set it up everywhere. I mean if one signal covers all of the US and Canada I can't see why it would be difficult to have it world wide.
