Dying a white Jelly

    Hi Riley and Co.,

    I am working on my first dye job and wondered if anyone has any advice. I'll be dying the band and bezel from my GW-M5625-7E, which is white jelly. I'm going for completely black, with as little transparency as possible.

    So, still need to gather supplies. I've read on several of the forums that I'll need "RIT" dye. Can this be bought in any store? Wal-Mart, grocery stores, etc.? Would anything work better at stealthing the band/bezel? Any suggestions about the process that can save me time and misery? Thanks all!

    It should be easy enough to dye that one black. Other colors can be tough to get right, but black RIT dye is pretty straight forward. I think soaking it for 15-20 minutes in any decent concentration should do it just fine.

    You can pick up RIT dye in most grocery stores near the laundry detergent (it's mainly used for dyeing clothes I think).

    The gold colored "protection" text on the bezel probably won't turn totally black, but it should darken somewhat. You would probably need to remove the paint with Goof Off to make it 100% stealthed.
