Help with new GW3000

Proud new owner of GW3000 in black and orange. Not a bad thing I can say about. Looks great, should be as tough or tougher than my other G's. Except ... signal reception always spotty in NYC due to interference and it is nice to see confirmation of reception. Here's the thing, I KNOW the watch has updated several times because the time has changed and it is to the second in synch with my other two atomic G's, yet the second hand always points to "NO" when I check last reception. Any thoughts?

Is it possible the time code is received but not full date/DST and therefore it says "NO"? Or that one reception works but a later one doesn't? Although that should not happen since the manual says if a synch is successful it will not try again. Please advise and thanks and great forum!

I only get mine to sync up a couple nights a month in Philly. You can try placing it in a window facing Colorado at night. I can never get a signal during the day here.

Thanks, Riley. I can get a signal here in NYC more like once or twice per week. The mystery to me is the two times I know it has synched and yet the second hand has indicated "NO" the next morning. Weird. Have you tried having the metal caseback in contact with metal like a coffee can or pipe ... that should help reception in Philly.

Does it say anything about that in the manual? It doesn't make sense to me either, but at least it syncing successfully on a semi-regular basis.
