I've never owned a solar powered watch but I have been looking at the GShock for quite some time. Whenever I read up on a model all it will tell me is how long the battery will last without being charged. What I am needing to know is approximately how long will this rechargeable battery continue to take a charge before it has to be replaced? If I have to replace the rechargeable battery every few years I don't see the point in having a solar powered watch because a standard watch battery can last 3 years or so.
Please help can't find answer anywhere.
They should last a really long time. I think the Raysman was the first solar G-Shock and came out in 1998. Some of those are still going on the original battery. But I'm sure it depends on multiple factors. I'm not sure if there's any official lifespan rating.
Does anybody have an estimate, whether it's 3-5, 7-10 or 10-15 years?
